Het genoemde casnr. behoort eigenlijk niet bij Sulphite lye maar bij D-xylose (xylose, wood sugar etc.) Dit laatste is een suiker die uit Sulphite lye kan worden gehaald. Residual lye from the manufacture of wood pulp can be used to produce alcohol, a product for use in animal feed, source materials for food additives, concrete additives, drilling mud additives, and soil stabilizer.
